GRAX REVIEW
by Cubby

Let me start this by saying this: I’m no super professional knife/axe/sharp stuff tester. I’ve never done anything like this for fun before, let alone for real!!! So I made a few “errors” in my methods or way about attempting things… but through pain, or blood, or lack of desired effect (affect??? J )… but I tried best I could to pretend !!

The Grayman Knives GRAX. Its designed as an axe first and foremost…. But…… its also a TOOL and a WEAPON…. So with no one wanting to help me with the “weapon” part of the test… here is what it did to a Toyota we have laying around…. I tried to get good photos… I think you get the just of what I was trying to accomplish….

The GRAX “tool” aspect was gear towards extracting yourself from a downed aircraft/car/whatever your stuck in…. it can also be used on structures…. Buildings, walls, shacks, whatever…I’ll be the first to say: this Toyota…. Not a Blackhawk. Or Hummer….. Or even a Chinook….. But its all I could come up with……. When they start letting hillbillies “have at” Blackhawks with axes…. Someone let me know… I’ll be in that line!!!!

So… here we go……

(explanation of photos)

I started with a little test, to make sure I wouldn’t be wasting my time….

Timed myself on a 18”x12” three sided hole….

Just about 3 minutes or so… I had a lot of “oops, that won’t work… better adjust” moments since this was first….

Three hits… really one, the first two I was off my mark… you can see them to the right of the hole, I believe…

Lock is gone and I can get at the latch.

Trunk open… very short time, but for pics!!

The car at the start.

Not sure where to start, never opened a dorr this way…. Started latch side….

Went too the handle side… took some sniffing around… think I got it right…

Door open!! Whooooooot!!!

Hmmmmm.. That door jam looks THICK!!!!

Yep… it WAS thick!!! J …. my arm is tired……..

Took a beating…. I’ll just post one side….

Edge is chipped but still chopped wood (and steel!! )

Other side of edge…

That damn door jam was THICK I tell you!!!

Who?? Mike is a rockstar, and his tools speak for themselves.
